A WordPress site built around who's actually visiting
Right now the SA8000 Standard lives as a static PDF, and five very different audiences — companies pursuing certification, auditors, training participants, brands and buyers, and general visitors — all fight the same navigation to find what they need. We'll run an SEO-safe audit first, then build a clear design system and real audience pathways around it, and hand your team the keys when we're done.
What we heard on our call
- Three priorities for this redesign: a bolder brand identity that shows SAI's impact and performs better in search and AI results; clearer descriptions of your other services — training, consulting, grants, brand/buyer work — so the SA8000 Standard isn't the only thing people find; and navigation that's actually built around who's visiting.
- The SA8000 Standard is currently a static PDF. You want it as an interactive page with expandable clauses and anchor navigation.
- Brand: you're keeping your primary blue, open to refining accent colors and headline fonts, and you'll share your formal brand guidelines.
- You're already deep in your own thinking — a draft sitemap, a mega-menu mock-up, a peer-site review and some analytics. Useful context, but per our process we'll bring our own SEO-safe direction so we don't work against pages that are already ranking well.
- Handover at the end: a Loom walkthrough plus written documentation on making edits, with an optional retainer if you'd rather we keep maintaining it.
- Process: weekly sync calls, tracked in Asana, with Abu as your single point of contact — feedback consolidated through you even though your director, COO and CEO sign off (and your SA8000 standards lead may weigh in too).
- Timing: you're hoping to decide on a contract by end of October, with the site live by end of January.
Built around who's actually visiting
Right now, one structure tries to serve everyone. We'll give each audience its own clear path in, starting from the home page.
Pursuing certification
A clear path into the SA8000 Standard and what certification involves, instead of starting from a PDF.
Audit assurance
Fast access to SAAS documents and the accredited CAB list — the reference material they're already looking for.
Courses & registration
A clear course catalog and sign-up path, separated from the certification content it currently sits next to.
Corporate programs
Corporate programs and a certified-organization lookup, framed around what a buyer actually needs to confirm.
Mission & impact
Your mission, news and impact up front, with a clear path to support SAI's work.
One consistent system
Every pathway shares the same design system and templates, so new content stays consistent as your team adds it.
A first look
A concept to show the direction — your primary blue, a clear audience choice up top, and the SA8000 Standard as a real page instead of a PDF. Final design follows the SEO audit and your brand guidelines. Concept only — logos, photos and exact colors are placeholders.
One clear path for certification, audits, training, brands and supporters — not one structure trying to serve all five.
Choose your path to get there faster.
Desktop and mobile concept — primary SAI blue kept, accents and photography to follow your brand guidelines.
What's included
- SEO-safe audit first. We map what's already ranking before touching structure, so the redesign doesn't cost you the traffic you have.
- Refreshed visual design system built on your primary blue, with refined accents and headline fonts, and a consistent heading structure for SEO.
- Interactive SA8000 Standard page — expandable clauses, anchor navigation, built to WCAG 2.1 AA from the start, replacing the current PDF.
- Reusable templates for services, programs, courses, resources, case studies and FAQs (custom post types + ACF), so your team can publish without rebuilding layouts.
- Audience-based navigation and a new mega-menu, replacing the current one-size-fits-all structure.
- Full content migration with preserved URLs, 301 redirects and metadata, protecting your current search rankings.
- Handover package — a Loom walkthrough plus written documentation, so your team can make edits after launch.
What we checked before quoting
We don't like surprises mid-project, so here's what we confirmed before putting a number on this.
Custom post types + ACF
Services, programs, courses, resources, case studies and FAQs as structured content — standard WordPress capability, confirmed buildable.
SA8000 interactive accordion
Expandable clauses to WCAG 2.1 AA, built on the W3C ARIA Authoring Practices accordion pattern — a standard, well-supported approach.
SEO-safe migration
Preserving URLs, adding redirects, and carrying over metadata is standard practice and protects your current rankings during the move.
SA8000 database / LMS integration
Feasibility and cost depend on what system runs it today and whether it has an API or export. This is the one answer that could move scope — let's confirm it before kickoff.

This reflects the scope from our call. If your deliverables list or the SA8000 database integration turns out to need more than we've assumed here, we'll flag it and agree any change before spending extra budget — never after.
After launch
You mentioned an optional retainer if you'd rather we kept maintaining the site instead of relying on the handover docs alone. Here's how we'd structure that:
| Plan | What's included | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | Small text/image edits, uptime & security monitoring | $99/mo |
| StandardRecommended | Everything in Essential + monthly WordPress/plugin updates, monthly backups, a set block of edit hours | $199/mo |
| Priority | Everything in Standard + faster turnaround, more edit hours, a quarterly SEO check-in | $349/mo |
No retainer is required — the Loom walkthrough and documentation in Milestone 4 are enough for your team to run the site on its own.
When is it done?
What we need from you
- Your budget figure, once you've checked with your supervisor, so we can confirm or adjust this scope together.
- Brand guidelines, audience/ICP info, and your deliverables list.
- How the SA8000 database/LMS is set up today, and whether it has an API or export — the one open question that could change scope.
- A 30-minute weekly sync, and feedback within a few days on each milestone, so we keep the 6–8 week timeline.

How we work
- One point of contact. Abu leads the project and stays on every call; our design, development, SEO and QA team is in-house, based in Pakistan.
- Full visibility. An Asana board with every task, so you always have a snapshot of what's done and what's left.
- SEO-safe process. Audit first, then design (checked against the audit), then development — in that order, so structure changes never fight your existing rankings.
- Weekly sync calls, with milestones released and paid as each one is delivered and approved on Upwork.
Next steps
- We send over the homepage UX exercise, our agency link, and nonprofit/NGO design examples — already on its way.
- You send your budget figure, brand guidelines, audience/ICP info and deliverables list.
- We confirm the SA8000 database/LMS answer together and lock final scope.
- Sign off on Upwork and kick off Milestone 1 — targeting a decision by end of October for an end-of-January launch.
